Global Conquest is a freeware, turn based strategy game. It has obviously taken some influence from the famous Risk strategy game. Game is free and you can download it from the web site or Tucows.
In the game you start from random situation. You can choose the number of your AI opponents or play online.
You have occupied some countries around the World and your task is to conquer the whole word. To attack your enemy, you need troops or tanks (usually both). You can buy troops, but it is more reasonable to build barracks and factories to produce them. You can also use nuclear weapons to attack the enemy, but you need to build nuclear silos for that.
As you build your army, you must also manage your economics. You can update your economics to make more money and you'll have to develop your military and nuclear power also. Moving troops is needed, but costs money. (check the strategic hints for Global Conquest at Cyberantweb)
The game is more versatile than the Risk. You'll have to manage your economics and save money to win the enemy on the country you have chosen. Global Conquest is definitely a game to try out.
I tested it with Vista. Software gives a warning, but is able to continue and works just fine.

Excellent for a floppy disk size game.
Hopefully we'll see a mobile port one day!
