I came up with an idea, to ask opinions from other social media site users, what they have in their mind about online communities, web 2.0, the current situation and the future. I try to make an interview every week and my very first guest is the citizen journalist Babel Fish.

1. Present yourself: who are you and where can you be found?

I am a retired computer specialist and a British military veteran of whom lives on the Island of Negros in the Republic of the Philippines, Southeast Asia. My main hobbies are painting and citizen journalism.

2. How do you see the future of online communities and web 2.0?

I feel that the internet is part of the second renaissance where as its a place to get enlightenment. One can find out about anything. I prefer news communities as they tend to have more active information about life and attract the type of people I wish to communicate with. Web 2.0. has just added enhancements to something that was bound to be successful. Most other types of communities however mainly seem childish or outlandish, being only really interested in citizen journalism possibly adds to my biasness.

3. What kind of features you do not like at social media site?

Its all to do with the programming the site must be user friendly and at present I can not think of any social media site that's is totally user friendly. I hate having to take hours understanding how things work on a site. I fact some sites take months to fully understand the navigation and how they totally operate. The things I really hate is religious indoctrination and political propaganda.

4. As we already have laws, do you think that online communities still need to have their own rules?

Laws and rules are important but they must be sensible, fairness of administering punishment to those that break the rules is very important. Unfortunately I have seen great abuse and plenty of unfairness in the two years that I have been writing citizen journalist articles.
